The Atlanta Braves wrapped up a six-game homestand with a loss to the San Francisco Giants by 9-3 on Wednesday in the finale of a three-game National League set at Truist Park. San Francisco took the series by 2-1.
The Giants scored three runs each during the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. Rafael Devers led the charge with two home runs.
Drake Baldwin had a two-run double that got the Braves on the board during the bottom of the seventh. Sean Murphy grounded out to drive in another run during that inning.
Spencer Strider took the loss for Atlanta after giving up three runs and five hits, walking three, and striking out seven in five innings. Justin Verlander got the win for San Francisco.
The Braves went 2-4 during their homestand and are now 44-57 on the 2025 regular season. They are off tonight and will begin a nine-game road trip on Friday night with the opener of a three-game set in Arlington, TX versus the Texas Rangers. The first pitch is slated for 8:05 pm Eastern. The Rome Emperors picked up a 6-1 win over the Hudson Valley Renegades on Wednesday afternoon in the second game of a six-game set at Wappingers Falls, NY. That evened the series at a game each. The teams will meet again this evening at 6:35 pm.
The Emperors’ road series with the Renegades will continue through Sunday. They will take Monday off, then will be back in action on their home field at AdventHealth Stadium in Rome with a six-game set against the Greensboro Grasshoppers next Tuesday, July 29th through Sunday, August 3rd.
