LIVING PROOF RECOVERY CELEBRATES NINE YEARS OF IMPACT AND A MONUMENTAL YEAR OF GROWTH

Media release from LivingProof Recovery:

This year, LivingProof Recovery (LPR) proudly celebrates nine years of service to the Rome/Floyd County community—and what a year it’s been!  The past year has marked a historic chapter of growth in their journey to support long-term recovery and wellness in Northwest Georgia.

2025 has been a year of expansion, connection, and innovation. In January, LPR officially opened the doors to NextDoor for Men, a peer-led recovery residence modeled after their successful women’s program, offering supportive housing and recovery services to men in the Rome/Floyd community. This long-anticipated program fills a critical gap in local recovery support and has already begun transforming lives.

In addition to expanding housing programs, LPR launched the Increased Access Initiative, a groundbreaking effort to reduce barriers and expand access to recovery for those with Opioid Use Disorder, and those at risk to develop OUD, through strategic peer support, reentry services, transportation services, comprehensive harm reduction, prevention outreach, and educational opportunities for the community.

The organization has also worked to expand prevention services through their Supported Volunteer Service (SVS) initiative, which focuses on mental health wellness and preventing social isolation, especially for those who may not yet have developed a substance use disorder but are at risk.

Here in 2025, LPR has already hosted three successful community fundraisers (Taste of Rome, Rummage Sale, NextDoor Car Wash) raising both awareness and critical funding for their mission-driven work.

“This past year has been a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together to support recovery,” said LPR Executive Director, Brittney Galvanauskas. “At LivingProof Recovery, we’ve grown in every direction—opening new doors, expanding services, and deepening our impact. Every step forward has been guided by the voices and needs of the peers we serve. We’re not just growing—we’re evolving to meet people where they are and walk with them toward long-term wellness.”

Perhaps most telling of the need and the impact is this: LivingProof Recovery has had over 13,000 interactions with peers seeking recovery support so far this year. That’s more than 13,000 moments of hope, encouragement and guidance. Each one represents a person taking a courageous step toward wellness—and LPR is honored to walk beside them.

As they celebrate nine years of service, LPR remains rooted in their mission: to meet the long-term recovery needs of their community through advocacy, peer support, harm reduction, prevention services and a multiple pathways approach.

You’re Invited to Celebrate!
