Media release from the Rome Area History Center:

The Rome Area History Center is pleased to host the special traveling exhibit “Beyond Rosie: Women in World War II,” on loan from Kennesaw State University. The exhibit will be on display from August 5 through September 28, 2025.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the Center will present a “Meet the Rosies” event on Monday, August 11 at 1:30 PM on the second floor. Guests will have the unique opportunity to meet real-life “Rosies” and hear their inspiring stories firsthand.

Rosie the Riveter remains one of the most enduring symbols of women’s contributions during World War II. However, “Beyond Rosie” goes deeper, exploring the broader roles women played during this pivotal time. From factory floors to military service, this exhibit tells the powerful stories of women who helped shape the war effort and transformed life on the home front.
