ATLANTA BRAVES GET SWEPT AWAY BY MILWAUKEE BREWERS, ROME EMPERORS LOSE WEDNESDAY NIGHT GAME IN GREENVILLE, SC TO THE DRIVE

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Milwaukee Brewers by a final score of 5-4 on Wednesday night to conclude a three-game set at Truist Park. It allowed the Brewers to sweep the series.

Bright spots for the Braves included a home run by Jurickson Profar during the bottom of the sixth inning. Michael Harris II had a solo shot to put Atlanta within a run of Milwaukee in the bottom of the ninth.

Andrew Vaughn had a solo home run in the fourth and drove in a total of two runs for the Brewers. Blake Perkins also had a two-run homer.

Spencer Strider was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up five runs and 11 hits, walking one, and striking out six through just four and two-third innings. Jose Quintana picked up the win and Trevor Megill got the save for Milwaukee.

The Rome Emperors lost to the Greenville Drive by 9-8 on Wednesday evening in the second meeting of a seven-game set in Greenville, SC. The series is now tied at 1-1. The teams will play a double header today to make up a game that was rained out earlier in the season; the first pitch of game one is set for 4:30 pm.

The Emperors’ series at Greenville will continue through Sunday. They will be back in action on their home field at AdventHealth Stadium in Rome next Tuesday through Sunday with a six-game series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
