The Floyd County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will host a free Community Workshop to take part in The Great Southeast Pollinator Census.
Participants will count pollinators on Friday, August 22, from 11am to 1pm at Ridge Ferry Park, on the north side of the tracks from the ECO Center near the dog park.
Keith Mickler, UGA Extension agent for Floyd County, says that pollinators like bees, butterflies, beetles, wasps, and yellow jackets will be counted.
According to an announcement from the Floyd County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, the Census is a citizen science project designed for everyone to participate in and make a difference for pollinator conservation.
