Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries looks forward to an influx of new and returning volunteers as local college students head to Rome, GA to begin the 2025-2026 school year.
Lindsey Kilby, Executive Director, says that students from Berry College and other volunteers are needed to assist with the Bagwell Food Pantry, Backpack Buddies, home deliveries, and food boxes for Cancer Navigators.
Groups of volunteers have the option to pack Backpack Buddies off site and return them to the non-profit, says Kilby.
Some 12,000 Backpack Buddies were packed over the Summer for this new school year, thanks to the help of volunteers, enthuses Kilby.
Concerned citizens may sign up to volunteer or donate to Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries at www.hungerministries.org. The non-profit organization serves Chattooga, Floyd, and Polk Counties.
