RESTORATION ROME: MAKE AN EXTRA EFFORT TO HELP KIDS, PARTICULARLY FOSTER KIDS, MAKE THE TRANSITION TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR

The beginning of a new school year can be challenging for some students, particularly those in the foster care system.

Mary Margaret Mauer, co-founder of local non-profit Restoration Rome, says that this is a time of transition, which can be scary for anybody. She suggests that families make an extra effort to make kids feel safe.

Restoration Rome, located at 1400 Crane Street, serves as a hub for foster care and family restoration services. To get additional information or donate, visit www.restorationrome.org.

Foster and adoptive families are currently sought in Floyd County, according to Mauer.
