ATLANTA BRAVES EXTEND LATEST WINNING STREAK TO FIVE IN A ROW, ROME EMPERORS TAKE HOMESTAND VERSUS BOWLING GREEN HOT RODS

The Atlanta Braves beat the Cleveland Guardians by a final score of 5-4 on Sunday in the finale of a three-game set in Cleveland, OH. That resulted in a series sweep for the Braves, who have won their last five games in a row and nine out of their last 11 outings.

Highlights included a two-run homer by Jurickson Profar that put the Braves ahead in the top of the sixth inning.

Aaron Bummer was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. Raisel Iglesias picked up the save. Nic Enright took the loss for Cleveland.

The Braves will begin a six-game homestand tonight with the first meeting of a three game set versus the Chicago White Sox. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:15 pm at Truist Park in Atlanta. The Rome Emperors closed out a six-game homestand with a 7-4 win over the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Sunday afternoon at AdventHealth Stadium. That allowed Rome to take the series by 5-1.

The Emperors have a scheduled off-day today and will be on the road again for a seven-game set in Asheville, NC versus the Tourists this Tuesday through Sunday.
