It may be August, but The Salvation Army of Rome, GA is already thinking about the holiday season.
Major Hank Harwell, Corps Officer, says that plans are currently being made for the annual Red Kettle Campaign, the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Volunteers are sought to ring bells at local stores during the campaign, which will get underway right before Thanksgiving. Groups of volunteers are ideal, as they can share bell ringing duties throughout a full day, according to Major Harwell, who encourages anyone interested in serving as a bell ringer this holiday season to sign up online at www.registertoring.com.
Donations are already solicited for the Red Kettle campaign. Donors will, as always, be able to drop their cash and change into bell ringers’ kettles. A QR code will be featured on each kettle stand so that donations may also be made via a mobile device.
Concerned citizens do not have to wait until the holiday season to donate to The Salvation Army of Rome, GA. Major Harwell says that contributions are especially needed right now to make up for a shortfall in fundraising during last year’s Red Kettle campaign.
