The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off-day on Thursday and will continue their current six-game homestand with a three-game National League East set versus the New York Mets over the weekend. Joey Wentz will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta in tonight’s series opener, and Nolan McLean will head to the mound for New York. The first pitch is slated for 7:15 pm at Truist Park. The outing will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school football. Listen to WLAQ for the play-by-play story of the rest of the series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
The Braves opened this homestand by taking two of three from the Chicago White Sox earlier this week in Atlanta.
Thursday night’s Rome Emperors game versus the Asheville Tourists was canceled due to rain in Asheville, NC. The teams will meet this afternoon at 4:35 pm to continue a match that was suspended on Wednesday night. Upon completion of that game, another will be played.
The Emperors’ series at Asheville will continue through the weekend and will conclude with a double header on Sunday. Their final homestand of the 2025 season is slated for next Tuesday through Sunday against the Winston-Salem Dash at AdventHealth Stadium in Rome. They will end the regular season on the road with a set versus the Hub City Spartanburgers during the first week of September.
