GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES OFFER WAYS TO COOL DOWN DURING THE FINAL DAYS OF SUMMER AND LOOK FORWARD TO AN INFLUX OF LABOR DAY VISITORS

Here is a friendly reminder from Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites – it is still Summer. If you need a place to stay cool, state parks have much to offer. Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, says that options include swimming beaches at lakes and even pools. Georgians may also beat the heat by visiting an air conditioned state historic site.

A bit of “False Fall” is predicted by the National Weather Service with cooler temperatures for our area over the weekend and into next week. However, the blazing heat of Summer is likely to return and even remain until after the season of Fall officially arrives on September 22nd.

Regardless of the weather, Hatcher expects next weekend to be extra busy as guests descend upon parks and historic sites across the state to enjoy Labor Day festivities. She suggests an early visit to avoid the crowds.
