Rome’s Downtown Development Authority anticipates a busy first week of September.
Highlights will include the second-ever Rome Night Market on the evening of Thursday, September 4th from 5 pm until 8 pm at Rotary Plaza.
Suzanne Roberts, DDA Director, enthuses that the event is returning because it was a great success a few weeks ago.
Shoppers will enjoy baked goods, produce, handmade items, live music, and more at the Rome Night Market.
The 2025 First Friday concert series will conclude on Friday, September 5th at 7 pm on the Town Green. Bad Medicine, a Bon Jovi tribute, will perform, as will Brother Mojo. Roberts invites all Romans to attend the concert, support local businesses, and have a good time in downtown Rome.
Big Bam Boom, a Hall and Oates tribute, was originally slated to perform at the September show, but that tribute dissolved.
Admission to all First Friday concerts is free of charge to attendees, thanks to the downtown Business Improvement District (or BID).
Looking ahead to later in the month, another themed event will be held in downtown Rome on Saturday, September 20th – just before Fall begins. Roberts encourages everyone to attend “Fall for All” and enjoy Fall-themed activities.
Roberts also wants locals to mark their calendars for Saturday, October 18th – that’s the date of Fiddlin’ Fest 2025. The free bluegrass street festival will be held from 10 am to 4 pm.
