A local Labor Day tradition will return on Monday, September 1st as the 57th annual Knights of Columbus Labor Day BBQ will be held at the Rome Civic Center from 10 am until 2 pm (or sold out).
Orders may be placed for carry-out online at www.romebbq.com through this Sunday, says Knight Kevin Wall.
On the menu:
Half rack of ribs, $20.
Pound of pulled beef barbecue, $12.
Pound of pulled pork barbecue, $12.
Pound of pork carnitas, $12.
Quart of Brunswick stew, $12.
Half a chicken, $12.
Quart of baked beans, $10.
Indoor dining also is available with plates selling for $12 each and featuring your choice of pork, beef, chicken or carnitas with baked beans, coleslaw, bread, chips, tea or lemonade.
Proceeds from the event will benefit local charities. More than $325,000 has been funneled into the community over the years, according to Knight John Druckenmiller.
