TWO $200,000 POWERBALL WINNERS IN GEORGIA AS JACKPOT SOARS TO $950 MILLION

Media release from the Georgia Lottery Corporation:

Three Georgia Lottery players won big prizes in the Aug. 27 Powerball drawing, while the jackpot rolled to $950 million, the sixth-largest in the game’s history.
All three Georgia winners matched four of the five white-ball numbers plus the Powerball. A ticket purchased at Publix, 2900 Delk Road in Marietta, won $50,000. Two additional winners, Savannah and Milton residents who purchased tickets online at galottery.com, selected the $1 Power Play option, boosting their prizes from $50,000 to $200,000 each.
The winning numbers were 09-12-22-41-61, with a Powerball of 25 and a 4X Power Play multiplier. The next drawing is set for Saturday, Aug. 30, with an estimated jackpot of $950 million.
In addition, an Atlanta resident hit the jackpot playing the Cats Jackpot Diggi Game on the Georgia Lottery mobile app, winning $2,151,943, on August 27. More Diggi Game wins this week include:

  • Waleska player won $20,000 playing Jumbo Bucks Triple Play on August 27
  • Valdosta resident won $15,000 playing Mighty Mustang on August 27
  • A player in Acworth won $10,000 playing Fishing for Gold on August 26

As with all Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball and Diggi Games benefit education in the state of Georgia.
