Media release from the Georgia Lottery:
Eleven Georgia Lottery players won $50,000 in the Sept. 1 Powerball drawing as the jackpot climbed to $1.3 billion, the fifth highest in game history. All 11 tickets matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball, which were 08-23-25-40-53 and 05. The PowerPlay multiplier was 3X.

The next Powerball drawing will be Sept. 3.
In addition, a player won $20,000 in the Aug. 29 Mega Millions drawing with a ticket purchased at Merritt Pecan Company, 4051 Weston Blvd., Weston.
As with all Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball and Mega Millions benefit education in the state of Georgia.
