ATLANTA BRAVES HANDED SUNDAY LOSS BY SEATTLE MARINERS AT TRUIST PARK, ROME EMPERORS WRAP UP 2025 REGULAR SEASON

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Seattle Mariners by 18-2 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park. That allowed the Mariners to take the weekend series by 2-1.

The Mariners scored eight runs in the top of the third inning and seven runs in the ninth en route to the win. They netted home runs from Jorge Polanco, Josh Naylor, Cal Raleigh, and two from Eugenio Suarez.

Jurickson Profar clubbed a home run for the Braves to open the bottom of the fourth.

Joey Wentz was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up eight runs and eight hits, walking one, and striking out two over just two and one-third innings. Luis Castillo picked up the win for Seattle.

The Braves will open a three-game series at home versus the Chicago Cubs tonight. The first pitch is set for 7:15 pm in Atlanta. Listen to play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 6 pm.

The Rome Emperors concluded their 2025 regular season on Sunday with a loss to the Hub City Spartanburgers by 6-1 in the finale of a six-game set in Spartanburg, SC. Rome still took the series by 4-2. Hub City is now bound for the South Atlantic League playoffs.

The Emperors will open their 2026 season next April 2nd at home versus the Asheville Tourists.
