ATLANTA BRAVES WRAP UP HOMESTAND WITH VICTORY OVER HOUSTON ASTROS

The Atlanta Braves concluded a nine-game homestand with an 8-3 win over the Houston Astros on Sunday afternoon at Truist Park. It allowed the Braves to avoid being swept in the series. They went 3-6 during the homestand.

The Astros struck first with an RBI single from Christian Walker in the top of the first. Matt Olson had a game-tying home run for the Braves in the bottom of that inning, during which Ha-Seong Kim scored on an error. Yanier Diaz had an RBI single for the Astros to tie the game at 2-2 during the fourth. The Braves took a 5-2 lead in the fifth on a two-run single by Ozzie Albies and an RBI single by Kim. Cam Smith hit a solo home run for the Astros in the top of the sixth. The Braves netted another run from Albies in the bottom of that inning and two more on a home run by Sandy Leon in the seventh.

Hunter Stratton picked up the win in relief for Atlanta. Framber Valdez took the loss for Houston.
