ATLANTA BRAVES OPEN ROAD TRIP WITH WIN IN WASHINGTON DC OVER NATIONALS

The Atlanta Braves opened a seven-game road trip with an 11-3 victory over the Washington Nationals on Monday night in the first outing of a four-game National League East set in Washington DC. It was the second straight win for Atlanta.

Highlights included home runs by Matt Olson, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Drake Baldwin.

Olson clubbed a three-run bomb during the top of the fifth inning and drove in a total of four runs on the night. Acuna had a solo shot in the top of the ninth. Baldwin contributed a two-run shot in that inning to bring his total of RBIs for the evening to four.

Spencer Strider picked up the win for Atlanta after giving up just one run and four hits, walking two, and striking out six in seven innings. Mitchell Parker took the loss for Washington.
