HOSPITALITY HOUSE FOR WOMEN, INC. GEARING UP FOR OCTOBER OBSERVANCE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

Hospitality House for Women, Inc. is gearing up for the October observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Activities will include the annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, set for October 4th. The event is being held on a Saturday this year in hopes that more people may attend, according to Krystal Raines, Executive Director. Festivities will begin at 11 am.

Highlights will include the announcement of the Grand Marshall Challenge winner, enthuses Raines.

Grand Marshall Challenge participants in ’25 include Ashley Hamby, Shaylan Johnson, Stephen Taylor, and Kristen Whatley.

The DVAM slate of activities will also include Love Empowers, a celebration set for the evening of Friday, October 10th at Taylor Estate.

The purpose of these events is to raise awareness about domestic violence, states Raines. She adds that most people have either experienced domestic violence or know someone that has.
