The Atlanta Braves opened their final homestand of the 2025 regular season with an 11-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Monday night in the first outing of a three-game National League East set. That allowed the Braves to extend their longest winning streak of the year to nine victories in a row.
Highlights included a game-tying home run from Ronald Acuna Jr during the bottom of the first inning. Drake Baldwin had a two-run single during the Braves’ five-run third inning. Marcell Ozuna contributed a total of three RBIs on the night.
Chris Sale was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up five runs and three hits, walked two, and struck out six over five innings of work. Jose Suarez picked up the save. MacKenzie Gore took the loss for Washington.
