To celebrate National Public Lands Day, Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites will host “Your State Parks Day” this Saturday, September 27th. Free admission will be offered to visitors who volunteer for a variety of projects.
Katy Gramling, Manager of James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park located in Summerville, says that “Your State Parks Day” is an initiative of the Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites.
Volunteers at “Sloppy” Floyd will assist with Outdoor Adventure Day and a Fishing Rodeo. Anybody can join the fun, according to Gramling, who adds that there will be a variety of volunteer opportunities for everybody.
The theme for “Your State Parks Day” is “Serve, Support, and Celebrate”. For more information, visit www.gastateparks.org.
