The Atlanta Braves saw a long winning streak come to an end at 10 on Wednesday afternoon with a loss to the Washington Nationals by 4-3 in the last meeting of a three-game National League East set at Truist Park.

The Nationals scored a run in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Daylen Lile, another in the fourth on a home run by Josh Bell, and a third in the sixth on a homer from James Wood. The Braves got on the board with a home run from Drake Baldwin to begin the bottom of the sixth. Wood had another homer for the Nationals in the eighth. Marcell Ozuna and Eli White hit solo shots in the eighth and ninth, respectively, for the Braves.

Bryce Elder was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up three runs and six hits, walking none, and striking out seven in seven innings. Mitchell Parker got the win and Jose Ferrer picked up the save for Washington.

The Braves have a scheduled off-day today and will wrap up the 2025 regular season this weekend with a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Atlanta. First pitch of Friday night’s series opener is scheduled for 7:15 pm. The outing will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school football. Braves fans may tune into WLAQ for the play-by-play story of the rest of the series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
