It is almost time for the 2025 Wings Over North Georgia air show! It will take to the skies this Friday through Sunday at the Russell Regional Airport in Rome.
This year, the event will feature a Friday evening twilight show that will end with drones and fireworks, says John Cowman, President of JLC Airshow Management.
Gates will open at 2 pm on Friday for ticket holders to watch practice flights by weekend performers. There will be a concert at 4:30 pm with the Atlanta-based country artist Kurt Thomas.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are slated to headline Wings Over North Georgia on Saturday and Sunday. According to air show officials, the military portion of the government shutdown should be resolved in time for the team to make the show. Regardless of any military participation, Cowman attests that there will be a full line-up of civilian performers on hand to entertain local aviation enthusiasts.
This will mark the 11th edition of the Wings Over North Georgia air show and the first since 2022.
