October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition wants to remind women over 40 – be sure to get regular mammograms!
Erin Hernandez, President and CEO, recommends that ladies speak to their physicians to determine their appropriate screening schedules. Assistance is provided through the coalition to those who cannot afford screenings.
It is also important for some men to get screened. Although breast cancer is more common in women, it can also occur in men.
