PRE-ENROLLMENT CONTINUES FOR NORTHWEST GEORGIA CHARTER ACADEMY, GRADES 6-8 COULD BE ADDED IF ENOUGH INTEREST FROM THE COMMUNITY

Pre-enrollment for the Northwest Georgia Charter Academy for the 2026-27 school year continues for grades K-8 through November 7th.

Dawn Williams, Superintendent/Principal, says that the school had already planned to serve grades K-5 during its first year. Grades 6-8 will be added if enough interest is generated during the pre-enrollment period.

Judy Taylor, Founder and Governing Board Member, states that local parents have already expressed enthusiasm for the potential addition of middle school grades.

Pre-enrollment is the first step towards enrollment. The seats are limited. A lottery may be necessary to determine enrollment, depending upon number of applications for each grade level. Pre-enrollment response will play a large role in determining whether or not grades 6-8 are added for next school year, according to Williams.

Northwest Georgia Charter Academy will expand to include all grades from K-12 in the years ahead.

The free public charter school is open to all students in Rome, Floyd County, and Polk County.

Interested parties may get more details and/or complete the pre-enrollment form at www.nwgacharteracademy.org.

The first day of classes at the Northwest Georgia Charter Academy is set for August 3, 2026. The school will be housed in the Dillard Building located on the Georgia School for the Deaf campus.
