Get ready to go ice skating again, Rome, GA! The Rink at Ridge Ferry Park will open to skaters on November 24th and will remain open through January 19th.
Hours of operation will vary, says Tyler Stinson, Special Services Manager for Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation. He encourages ice skating enthusiasts to visit www.rfrpa.com for updated hours throughout the season.
The cost to skate will be $12 for each adult and $10 for each child aged nine and under. That includes rental of ice skates.
Now is an ideal time to book field trips at The Rink at Ridge Ferry Park, says Stinson, who adds that space is filling quickly.
The rink is also a great place for holiday parties, attests Lindsey Jones, RFPR Recreation Services Manager, who adds that a party room is available.
Stinson encourages the community to participate in the first ever Tinsel Trail. Businesses, families, and community groups can purchase and decorate their own Christmas tree at the park.
Trees will go on display on December 1st. Each costs $200; purchasers must provide their own decorations and extension cords. All proceeds will support Toys for Tots and park upgrades.
And mark your calendars for Saturday, December 6th. A full slate of events is planned for that day at the rink, to include a Candy Cane Hunt, Playtime with Santa, and a Mascot Party, enthuses Jones.
Before heading to the Rink at Ridge Ferry Park, be sure to bundle up! Real ice will fill the rink so it will be cold.
