Media release from Rome-Floyd Parks & Recreation:
Rome-Floyd Parks & Recreation invites the community to celebrate the season at the upcoming Ridge Ferry Holiday Fest on Saturday, December 6 at Ridge Ferry Park. This festive event promises a full day of holiday cheer, featuring activities and attractions designed for families, children and visitors of all ages. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy the popular Tinsel Trail, an ongoing display of beautifully decorated trees that will soon become a cherished seasonal tradition in Rome. Ice skating will also be available all day, offering a winter-themed experience right in the heart of the community.
From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Holiday Vendor Market will display local artisans, small businesses and specialty creators, providing an ideal opportunity for holiday shoppers to find unique gifts while supporting local vendors. At noon, children and families are invited to participate in the Candy Cane Hunt, a lively activity that runs until 12:30 p.m. and brings excitement to younger visitors. Immediately following, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Santa and several friendly mascots will host a festive Mascot Party, giving attendees the chance to enjoy photos, interactions and holiday fun. The first 600 kids will receive a basketball, football or soccer ball thanks to our partnership with Coca-Cola.
Holiday Fest is designed to foster community connection, spark holiday joy and create memorable moments for families and individuals alike. Visitors can learn more about the event, general park programming and additional seasonal offerings by visiting the RFPRA website at www.rfpra.com or by calling 706-291-0766. Vendor and sponsorship inquiries are also welcomed.
RFPRA encourages families, friends and neighbors to mark their calendars and gather for a full day of holiday magic at Ridge Ferry Park. With shopping, skating, festive entertainment and seasonal décor, the Ridge Ferry Holiday Fest is poised to be one of the most joyful community celebrations of the year.
