ROME POLICE INVESTIGATE HOMICIDE

Media release from the Rome, GA Police Department:

The Rome Police Department worked diligently throughout Tuesday investigating a homicide discovered around noon in the John Graham Homes area near Hull Avenue and Cedar Avenue. Witnesses reported seeing a red passenger vehicle in the area immediately prior to the discovery of the body of a female which had been covered with blankets. That vehicle was later located and stopped in Bartow County with the assistance of partnering agencies. Multiple neighbors and witnesses have been interviewed as part of this active and ongoing investigation.

Two suspects have been identified and taken into custody. Mystique Malachi Amaziah Taylor (23) is being held without bond on multiple charges including fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, speeding, theft by receiving stolen property, and failure to obey traffic-control devices. He is also facing felony warrants for concealing the death of another, aggravated assault, two counts of felony murder, and aggravated battery, and is additionally being held for the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.

Rolanda Monique Edwards (25) is also being held without bond and is charged with party to a crime, with warrants for concealing the death of another and hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
