BELLS ARE RINGING THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY TO SOLICIT DONATIONS FOR THE SALVATION ARMY OF ROME, GA’S ANNUAL RED KETTLE CAMPAIGN, HERE’S HOW TO HELP

Bells are ringing at shopping centers throughout the community over the holiday season to solicit donations for the Salvation Army of Rome, GA’s annual Red Kettle campaign.

Additional volunteers are sought to ring a bell, states Major Hank Harwell, Corps Officer. He adds that donors are also needed to drop cash and change into ringers’ kettles. Donors have the option to scan a QR code on the kettles to make an online donation.

Contributions will fund the organization’s operating expenses and programs throughout next year, according to Harwell.

Although volunteers would prefer to ring bells on a warmer day, donors tend to be more generous when temperatures are colder, reveals Harwell, who adds that people are typically most generous on Christmas Eve – the final day of the campaign.

Harwell also encourages community members to donate canned food to the canned food drives being held for the Salvation Army of Rome, GA at local schools, churches, and businesses. He additionally expresses his gratitude for overwhelming support for this year’s Angel Tree program that provides gifts to kids, seniors, and those with special needs.
