Media release from New Echota State Historic Site:
New Echota-Cherokee Capital State Historic Site will be hosting Mission Holiday: Traditional Cherokee Recipe on December 20th, 2025, in the Middle-Class cabin from 11 A.M. through 1 P.M. The year is coming to an end as well as the Traditional Cherokee Recipe program series for the year 2025. The last recipe presented to visitors will be one found in the Moravian Diaries written during the early part of the 19th century at their mission by the Vann House known as Springplace. The Ranger presenting the recipe will also discuss with visitors the role the missionaries played within the Cherokee Nation during the early 19th century and during the removal process.
Admission fee ($6-$8) is required and includes admission to the museum, self-guided walking tour of the historic grounds and Mission Holiday: Traditional Cherokee Recipe
