Local high school basketball teams began their quest for a Gold Ball in the 72nd annual Rome Seven Hills Rotary Christmas Tournament on Thursday.

WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM is pleased to provide broadcast coverage of the Christmas Tournament again this year. WLAQ Sports’ Matt Davis enthuses that it is a time for great basketball, as well as holiday reunions among local high school basketball fans.
In semifinal games at Shorter University to be broadcast on WLAQ:
4:00 p.m. – Rockmart vs. Armuchee (Girls) – Matt Davis/Ian Griffin
5:30p.m. –Rome vs. Model (Boys) – Matt Davis/Ian Griffin
7:00 p.m. – Model vs. Pepperell (Girls) – Gavin Booker/Luke Reynolds
8:30 p.m. – Darlington vs. Rockmart (Boys) – Gavin Booker/Luke Reynolds

The tournament will conclude with the girls’ and boys’ championship games on Saturday night.
