The 2026 session of the Georgia General Assembly will commence Monday, January 12th at the State Capitol in Atlanta.
Katie Dempsey of Rome, Representative for the 13th District in the Georgia House of Representatives, says that she looks forward to working with the House Appropriations Committee to develop a balanced budget for the state early in the session.
Dempsey anticipates that there will be a strong focus under the Gold Dome on mental health initiatives this year.
