Here is a coming attraction for 2026 that is sure to excite aviation enthusiasts locally and beyond – the Wings Over North Georgia air show. This year’s air show will take to the skies on Friday and Saturday, April 3rd and 4th at Russell Regional Airport in Rome. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will serve as the headliners.
John Cowman, President of JLC Airshow Management, enthuses that he is excited that the Thunderbirds will actually be able to land at Rome’s airport this time around, thanks to a recent runway extension.
The Thunderbirds will be in town all throughout the air show week, adds Cowman.
The two-day air show will feature aerial performances during each day and a twilight show with fireworks on Friday night. Cowman states that there will be no performances on that Sunday, which will be Easter Sunday.
Tickets are now available at www.wingsovernorthgeorgia.com. They must be purchased in advance as they will not be sold at the air show.
Cowman encourages all air show enthusiasts to check out Wings Over North Georgia Airshow on Facebook for event updates.
