Have you resolved to incorporate more culture and art into your life in 2026? If your answer is yes, consider a visit to Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden in Summerville.
Davia Weatherill, Executive Director of the Paradise Garden Foundation, enthuses that highlights of the garden include the World’s Folk Art Church, which re-opened to the public last summer after an extensive restoration. It was part of Finster’s effort to build ‘mansions in the sky’.
The structure was closed for more than 25 years because it was ‘on the verge of collapse’, according to Weatherill, who adds that recent renovations have made it much safer for the public.
Weatherill invites all Northwest Georgians to explore the treasures within the World’s Folk Art Church and the rest of Paradise Garden.
