Rome’s MLK Commission invites the public to a host of events to celebrate the life and legacy of late Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this Friday through Monday (MLK Day).
The celebration will culminate, as it does each year, with the Freedom March down Broad Street on MLK Day. Dr. King peacefully marched in support of Civil Rights, according to the Commission’s Alvin Jackson.
The Commission’s Sundai Stevenson encourages community members to be part of this weekend’s events and promote unity in a non-violent manner.
