The Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth encourages all community members to mark those calendars for Tuesday, April 14th – that is the date of the “Are You Smarter Than A 3rd Grader?” Awareness Fundraiser. It will take place at 6 pm at the Rome City Auditorium.
Jennifer Jolly, RFCCCY Executive Director, says that the event is patterned after the TV game show “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?”, but the focus is on students reaching literacy goals by 3rd grade.
Teams of adults are sought to compete against local 3rd graders in this year’s contest, says Jolly.
For additional information, contact the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth at (706) 844-4952 or rfcccy@gmail.com. Don’t want to participate? Jolly states that you can support the cause by sponsoring a team. Tickets for the “Are You Smarter Than A 3rd Grader?” Awareness Fundraiser will go on sale in March.
