This spring, the Berry College music department is preparing a number of impactful pieces for the Rome community to engage with.
On March 1 at 3 p.m., Berry Winds will present Crosswinds in the Bell Recital Hall. It is a piece that incorporates ideas of diversity, intercultural representation and cross-cultural intersection into complex and engaging melodies
On March 3 at 7 p.m., the Berry College Wind Ensemble will perform Women in Music in the Bell Recital Hall. The event will celebrate and feature works by composers that are artistic trailblazers, such as Florence Price, the first African American woman to have a symphony performed by an orchestra, and Carol Brittin Chambers, who is famous for her vibrant compositions for wind band
On March 22 at 7 p.m., The Berry Singers will present their homecoming concert: Echoes of Portugal. The show will celebrate their tour of Portugal, with beautiful folksongs and a special feature of Guitarist Sean Thrower, who accompanied the students on their trip to Portugal.
