Lindsey Kilby, President, says that the organization is preparing to bid adieu to volunteers from local colleges upon the end of the school year. She hopes to recruit new helpers to assist with Backpack Buddies.
Daytime assistance is needed at the Bagwell Food Pantry, which is open each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, according to Kilby.
Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries will team up with the YMCA of Rome and Floyd County to distribute produce to those in need on the last Monday in March and April (and again in the Fall) at Grizzard Park. Volunteers are needed for that, too, states Kilby.
Donations are also sought at this time, says Kilby, who directs the public to the organization’s website at www.hungerministries.org to register to serve as a volunteer or to donate.
