Warmer temperatures have led to an uptick in visitors to James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park in Summerville, GA over recent weeks.
Katy Gramling, Park Manager, has enjoyed this increase in visitors. She says that many arrive with fishing poles in hand.
Campers are also filling the park amid the warmer temperatures. Gramling asserts that camping reservations are mostly full on the weekends in March, although there is some weekday availability.
Now is a time for Spring Breakers. In the not-too-distant future, the park will welcome Summer Vacationers. Gramling states that campsites are now being booked for the Summer.

Winter reminded Northwest Georgians of its presence as temperatures dipped this past week. However, the National Weather Service reports that the highs will be in the upper 70s for today and into the 80s on Saturday and Sunday to usher in Spring.
