The Atlanta Braves shut out the Athletics by a final score of 4-0 on Monday night in the opener of a three-game set at Truist Park.
Matt Olson got Atlanta on the board with an RBI double in the bottom of the first. Mauricio Dubon contributed a two-run single in that inning, then drove in another run for the Braves with an RBI single in the eighth.
Bryce Elder was the Braves’ winning pitcher. He gave up five hits, walked one, and struck out five in six scoreless innings. Jacob Lopez was charged with the loss for the Athletics.
