The Atlanta Braves lost to the Athletics by 5-2 on Tuesday night in game two of a three-game set at Truist Park. It evened the series at an outing apiece.
The Braves struck first with a solo home run by Drake Baldwin in the bottom of the first inning. The Athletics struck back with three runs in the top of the second on an RBI single from Andy Ibanez and a two run double from Jacob Wilson. They added another run with a second RBI single from Ibanez in the fourth and scored their fifth run of the night on a homer from Shea Langeliers in the fifth. Ronald Acuna Jr had a sac fly in the fifth that drove in Atlanta’s second and final run of the game.
Jose Suarez was charged with the loss for the Braves after giving up four runs and five hits, walking three, and striking out six over just three and two-third innings. Aaron Civale was credited with the win and Mark Leiter Jr got the save for the Athletics.
