The 2020 Cave Spring Polar Plunge will be hosted on New Year’s Day by the Cave Spring Historical Society. Registration will begin at 10:30 am with the jump set for high noon at Rolater Lake.
Those brave enough to jump must pay $25 to do so. Jumpers will be treated to a t-shirt as well as a New Year’s Day lunch, says Sandra Lindsey, Director of the Cave Spring Downtown Development Authority. She does not plan to take the plunge, but she is willing to cover the registration fee of anyone that would jump in her stead.
Wednesday’s high temperature is expected to be in the mid-50s, according to the National Weather Service. That’s not too much cooler that the 57-degree waters of Rolater Lake. Sunny skies are also expected for the start of the New Year 2020.
