IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS IN DOWNTOWN ROME, GA; DDA ENCOURAGES SHOPPERS TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around downtown Rome, Georgia, and businesses in the area are ready to welcome holiday shoppers.

Aundi Lesley, Director of Rome’s Downtown Development Authority, attests that Broad Street will be fully decorated just in time for the Rome Christmas Parade on November 28th.

The DDA and the Rome-Floyd Chamber encourage residents to shop locally this holiday season. Online shopping may offer convenience, but shopping at local businesses helps this community to thrive, indicates Lesley.

By the way, save those receipts when shopping at local businesses and enter the “Shop Small to Win It All! Receipt Raffle” being hosted by the DDA and the Chamber. Lesley enthuses that shoppers have a chance to win $200. For full contest details, visit www.romega.com/receipt-raffle.

Lesley also invites locals to attend Rome for the Holidays, set for the evening of Thursday, December 7th. Some downtown businesses will be open late for holiday shoppers. Families may go for a ride with Santa Claus on the “Holly Jolly Trolley”.
