The Atlanta Braves beat the Boston Red Sox by 10-4 on Sunday in the finale of a three-game set at Fenway Park in Boston, MA. That allowed the Braves to take the weekend series by 2-1 and improve to 24-23 on their 2025 regular season.
Atlanta struck first with two runs in the top of the first inning on an RBI single from Drake Baldwin and an RBI groundout from Ozzie Albies. They added another in the top of the third on an RBI single from Marcell Ozuna. Boston took a 4-3 lead with a grand slam by Rafael Devers in the bottom of that inning. Austin Riley hit an RBI single in the fourth which tied the game at 4-4. Michael Harris II walked in a run to put the Braves ahead in the fifth. They notched two more runs in that inning on an RBI single from Eli White and a sac fly by Nick Allen. Matt Olson drove in a run with a sac fly, while Marcell Ozuna contributed the icing on the cake with a two run homer in the eighth.
Spencer Schwellenbach was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up four runs and six hits, walked one, and struck out three through seven innings. Brayan Bello was charged with the loss for Boston.
The Braves are off today and will continue their current six-game road trip on Tuesday evening with the first of three National League East outings against the Washington Nationals. The Rome Emperors defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers by a final score of 10-6 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a six-game series at Greensboro, NC. Greensboro took the series by 4-2 and remains atop the South Atlantic League’s North Division at 27-12 on the 2025 season. Rome is tied for first place in the South Division with a record of 21-18.
