The Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins by 12-1 on Wednesday afternoon in the last meeting of a three-game National League East set in Miami, FL. It allowed Atlanta to take the series by 2-1.
Jurickson Profar hit a home run to lead off the game. The Braves scored five runs in the third on a two-run homer by Matt Olson and a three-run bomb by Ozzie Albies. That was Albies’ third homer of the series. He drove in two more runs with an RBI single and scored another on an RBI single by Michael Harris II during the fourth. Derek Hill drove in the Marlins’ lone run of the day with an RBI double in the fifth. Harris added a two-run homer in the sixth. Profar contributed another solo home run in the seventh.
Joey Wentz was credited with the win for Atlanta after giving up one run and four hits, walking two, and striking out five over six and two-third innings of work. Ryan Gusto took the loss for Miami.

The Rome Emperors fell to the Winston Salem Dash by 3-0 on Wednesday night in the second outing of a six-game set at AdventHealth Stadium. That allowed Winston Salem to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Game three is on tap for tonight at 7 pm.
