ATLANTA BRAVES DROP TUESDAY NIGHT OUTING TO CHICAGO CUBS

The Atlanta Braves lost to the Chicago Cubs by 6-1 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set at Truist Park. That evened the series up at a game each.

The Cubs struck first in the top of the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Pete Crow-Armstrong, who had an RBI single in the third. Jurickson Profar drove in the Braves’ lone run of the night with an RBI single during the bottom of that inning.

Dansby Swanson walked in a run for the Cubs in the top of the eighth, during which Matt Shaw drove in two more with a single and Swanson scored on a fielding error.

Spencer Strider was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up two runs and six hits, walking three, and striking out eight in six innings. Cade Horton picked up the win for Chicago.
