CHIAHA ARTS GUILD MARKS 60 YEARS WITH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Media release from the Chiaha Arts Guild:

The Chiaha Arts Guild will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a free public event on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rome Area History Center, 305 Broad Street. The celebration will honor six decades of Chiaha Harvest Fair while introducing the organization’s vision for its future.

Event-goers will be treated to the sights, sounds, and memories of 60 years of the beloved local festival. Planned activities include live artist demonstrations, artists selling original work, a student art show and awards, children’s art activities, grant awards, and a silent auction featuring Chiaha artists and local businesses. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Chiaha celebration without the festival’s famous cider.

Beginning October 7th and running all month, the Rome Area History Center will feature a special exhibit showcasing the history of the Chiaha Harvest Fair and its cultural impact. The anniversary celebration will serve as the month’s grand finale, both a homecoming and forward-looking launch into Chiaha Arts Guild’s next chapter.

“Chiaha has always been about celebrating creativity, supporting artists and arts education, and bringing our community together through the arts,” said Chris Davidson, Chiaha Arts Guild President. “We’re excited to honor the rich history of the festival and to share how the Guild will continue its mission.”

Both the anniversary celebration and the Rome Area History Center are free and open to the public.
