VOLUNTEERS, DONATIONS CONTINUE TO BE SOUGHT FOR THE 38TH ANNUAL THANKSGIVING LOVE FEAST

Thanksgiving is three weeks away. Volunteers and donations continue to be sought for the 38th annual Thanksgiving Love Feast, sponsored by Concerned Citizens of Rome and Floyd County. The traditional dinner will be served to those in need at the Rome Civic Center on Thursday, November 27th between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm (or until the food runs out).

Reverend Terrell Shields, Chairman of the Concerned Citizens, encourages anyone in need to come enjoy food and fellowship at the Love Feast.

Those who are not in need of a meal are requested to come to the Love Feast to serve as a volunteer. Serving others is a Thanksgiving tradition for the Shields family, according to Terrica Shields.

Others interested in serving should call (706) 234-2091 to find out when they are most needed to volunteer.

It is a blessing to gather with the community to give thanks during the Love Feast, says Cherish Shields.

Rome and Floyd County residents will put aside their differences for this one day to come together to help those less fortunate, attests Reverend Shields.

If you are unable to contribute your time to the Love Feast, consider donating money. To donate, send your check payable to “Thanksgiving Love Feast” to P.O. Box 161, Rome, Georgia 30161. Donations may also be made by using the Cash app at $Lovefeast1987.

Donations of warm winter coats and jackets are also sought for distribution to those in need at the Thanksgiving Love Feast. They may be taken over to the Civic Center on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving from 6 pm until 8 pm. Donations of desserts will also be accepted at that time.
