The Children’s Museum of Rome wants the community to save the date for May 9th. That is the date of the second annual Touch A Truck event. It will take place from 9 am to 1 pm at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds in Rome.
Megan Treglown, Board Member, says that the first hour will be a quiet hour for those who are sensitive to loud sounds.
After that first hour, the trucks’ horns will likely be honking throughout the event to the delight of kids in attendance.
Admission to Touch A Truck will cost $5, according to Treglown, who adds that sponsors are sought at this time. For additional details, send an email to info@childrensmuseumromega.org.
The Children’s Museum of Rome will be housed inside Mount Berry Mall. Treglown anticipates that it will open prior to next school year. She says that there is a need for something for kids to do in Floyd County, and the museum will fulfill that need.
Donations are sought from community members for the museum, which will offer a wide variety of interactive exhibits. Those who donate $500 or more have an opportunity to have their names displayed in colorful blocks on the museum’s Founders Wall.
