Media release from Georgia Northwestern Technical College:
Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s (GNTC) Office of Career Services is offering students immersive job readiness training to prepare for today’s workforce via Virtual Reality (VR).
Through a partnership with Believe Greater Dalton, an initiative of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce, and the Rome Floyd Chamber, Career Services was able to obtain two Virtual Reality headsets from Transfr Trek that provide students with career exploration through virtual simulations that show a “day in the life” view of many careers that align with GNTC’s programs of study.
“We are very grateful to Believe Greater Dalton, an initiative of the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce, and the Rome Floyd Chamber for helping us to provide this immersive experience to students so they can engage and explore the many career paths that GNTC offers and get a preview of careers that may interest them,” said Medina Safic, coordinator of Career Services at GNTC.
The virtual platform features mobile-based career exploration, career interest assessments and career matching, virtual coaching and scenario-based challenges to build workplace skills.
